Nothing But Thieves has been one of alternative rock’s most promising outfits since their 2015 self-titled debut record, and they’ve kept delivering. After 2017’s powerful Broken Machines, Nothing But Thieves bring huge energy in What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way?, their new EP that sees them stay in form in the best way.
If there’s one thing you can depend on Nothing But Thieves bringing to the table, it’s some big energy loaded with fun. Though What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way? is a short EP, it certainly doesn’t let you go. Opening track ‘Forever & Ever More‘ kicks off with a rock n’ roll flair, its huge chorus accentuated by its generally funky vibe. ‘You Know Me Too Well‘ has a similarly funky energy to it, but with a more taunting attitude. ‘Gods‘ has a load of drive to it that really adds a bunch of dynamic to the EP, before closing track ‘Take This Lonely Heart‘ ends the record out with a sweet and somber build. Nothing But Thieves leaves no stones unturned, even on a brief output like this.
Nothing But Thieves brings huge energy in What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way?, a dynamic yet short EP that highlights all of the band’s best qualities. On top of making big tracks, Nothing But Thieves also offers up some interesting sounds and moods, keeping the EP dynamic and things fresh as the band keep moving ahead.
