Paul White and Danny Brown Team Up For Trippy "Accelerator" EP

Producer Paul White has teamed up with his favorite crazy rapper Danny Brown to make some magic happen. Keep in mind, however, that "magic" can very easily be substituted for a drug trip. The duo's new EP Accelerator is a trippy experimental record that'll have you turning your head.

If you've been anxiously waiting for the EP, you'll have heard the title track 'Accelerator.' Nothing about this song screams "normal," and no matter how many times you listen to the full version of the instrumental, you're left with a single thought: "what?" The vocals from Brown can't be described as anything but batshit crazy. His offkilter bars scream almost nonsensical words above the goofy instrumental, that does have some tasty bits in it. This song is about as close to a drug trip you can have without actually taking drugs.

The second track 'Lion's Den' is another drug trip, but not quite as intense as 'Accelerator.' In its trippy atmosphere it doesn't lose itself by falling off its bar. Brown's bars are still tinged with some craziness, but that's to be expected from him. His words in this song are much more pronounced and clearly have a stronger conviction, actually having a sense of urgency to him. In his trip, he ponders out loud, "Daniel in the lions den / Nobody knows will I make it out to fight again," as if to acknowledge that his antics may be going a bit too far.

Paul White and Danny Brown's Accelerator EP is a trippy experience, but it does have it's charm. It's not something you'd find yourself coming back to,  but it's definitely something you can remember. It's just weird enough to stick in your memory for a long time to come, and when you're in need of something weird, well... you know where to find it.
