Tom Petty Taken Off Life Support Following Cardiac Arrest

Rock n' roll legend Tom Petty has passed away today at the age of 66.

The rocker suffered cardiac arrest and was rushed to the hospital after being found unconscious in his home in Malibu on Sunday. Reports say Petty had "no brain activity" upon entering the hospital. He was put onto life support, and the decision was made today to take him off of it.

Tom Petty's legacy will forever be remembered as an important one. Petty had just finished touring North America with his band, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, in celebration of their 40th anniversary. Petty wrote many of rock's most profound hits, like 'Free Falling' and 'Learning To Fly.'
